Baby Let's Go To Mexico

San Antonio Texas' Doug Sahm had a handle on many musical styles. Blues, rock & roll, western swing, cajun, or polkas. He and his bandmates did them all, WELL, in his own Texan style.
This is our take on "Baby Let's Go To Mexico".

"Dinah" was written by three vaudevillian songwriters. Two of the three, Lewis And Young, wrote "Rock A Bye Your Baby With A Dixie Melody". Joe Young wrote lyrics to "In A Shanty, In Old Shanty Town", a hit in 1932.

Sham 69 is one of Rancid’s favorite bands of all time. One of my favorite scenes in the movie Rude Boy is when Joe Strummer invites Jimmy Pursey of Sham 69 onstage to sing with the Clash. It’s a great moment. This is the twins and I doing our take on a classic!

This song was written by Dick Reinhart, in my opinion one of the best Western/Texas Swing vocalists. A gifted songwriter and instrumentalist. He learned to sing from black bluesmen in Dallas' Deep Ellum district. Moved to Oklahoma in the thirties and met singers Jimmy Wakely and Johnny Bond-forming the Bell Boys. They all moved to the West Coast and ended up working with Gene Autry.
