*ART - CUPID AIMS

This song was an idea I had about a mad doctor, a sick in the head, scientific super genius, who reanimates a previously deceased lover.

When we go out on tour, I like to bring some sort of improv recording studio, just so we can capture any ideas, that come up --on the spot.

This song was recorded on the Transplants tour bus 7 years ago.

Lodi

_ART - LODI-CAR AD SCHM

This one was written by John Fogerty, and recorded originally by his group, Creedence Clearwater Revival. John wrote the song about a down and out musician playing a gig in Lodi, which is a small agricultural city located in the Central Valley of California. John claimed that he thought Lodi had "the coolest sounding name", and that's what inspired him to use it in the song. John was from our neighborhood, born in Berkeley, Ca.-which is about 70 miles from Lodi, and he went to El Cerrito High School. Growing up in the East Bay, coming from a working class family, Creedence was the Holy Grail of what we consider great, and cool about music.

Rancid just played with the Last Resort this month on our recent UK tour. Rancid has always been a fan of leader Roi Pearce and the band. We give a nod to them on the song The Ballad of Jimmy and Johnny from our Let's Go record-- "Jimmy Likes Ska, and Johnny Likes Last Resort". You need look no further than these guys, that we consider one of the greatest punk bands of all time. King Of The Jungle takes you on a journey through the inner-city jungle..This is our take on this great song.

This is one more that I wrote and recorded in Spain in 2007--that was inspired by the classic zombie movie, The Last Man On Earth, starring Vincent Price. Throughout the recording process, funny enough, was that only one of my musician friends spoke english..at first it was challenging, but you know what they say, "music is the universal language".
