She Goes To Finos

Olga is a guitar virtuoso, I'm not fucking kidding. We did a show with Toy Dolls in France, over the past summer- and they're still world-class punk rock. I've been a fan of these guys for almost 30 years, and this is our take on one of their many great tunes.

That's Just The Way It Is Now

This song was inspired by the 1962 Vincent Price movie,' The Last Man On Earth'. Originally, I recorded this song in Spain, and a version ended up on the Rancid record, "Let The Dominoes Fall".

Honky Tonk Hardwood Floor

This song was written in 1951 by a trio of songwriters that included Tex Atchison. He also wrote quite a few hillbilly boogie, and rockabilly tunes, such as "Tennessee Hound Dog", "Mailman", and Johnny Bond's "Sick, Sober and Sorry". Tex Atchison started recording in the 1930s with the Kentucky Ramblers, who became the Prairie Ramblers. In the post war era, he played with Merle Travis (40's-50's), Ole Rasmussen's Nebraska Cornhuskers, and Leon Chappel in the early 50's. Tex became famous for his Western Swing fiddle playing-- and as a teenager, he would be digging coal by day, and play fiddle, sax and clarinet at night, in coal miner dance halls. Tex Atchison was called "Arguably the best left-handed fiddler in the history of country music" - by country historian Charles K. Wolfe. Being a Southpaw myself, I always have an affinity for a left handed muso.

When we were in London, we asked our good friend Jamie T to be our guest on this version of "Wrongful Suspicion". It's always fun being with Jamie, and playing music together-- whenever we are lucky enough, and the planets decide to line up.

Singer-Songwriter Merle Travis originally penned and recorded this one about Appalachian coal miners. You see, Merle grew up in the heart of Kentucky's coal country. When he was 12, he wanted to learn to do guitar picking the way the local coal miners played.
