Bridge of Gold

The Bridge Of Gold is not for the old, it's for the young at heart- to get a new start.
One side is the past, the other side the future. 1930's, Great Depression..a man named Strauss engineered that Golden Gate, across a treacherous channel, where no one had succeeded before. People moved west, to follow a dream. I wrote this song with my best friend Matt Freeman. The original version came out on the 'Devils Brigade' album.

This is the first song on Rancid's first record, that originally came out in 1993. It was the first time that we had ever recorded outside of the Bay Area. We did it at the Epitaph home studio--known as Westbeach Recorders. I got some of my ol' partners in crime with me on this one.
