All songwriters have interesting stories, and Rosalie Allen's no different. In the mid 40s She opened her own music store called "Rosalie Allen's Hillbilly Music Center" on West 54th Street in NYC. It was one of the first shops in the United States to only sell country music.

Pete Townshend is hard rock's top song writer, capable of composing blistering punk love letters with pop hooks. This song comes from Pete's 1980 solo album 'Empty Glass'. The Interrupters with Jordis Unga got together with me to do this classic of Pete's.

The earliest wriitten record of this song dates back to 1922, and back then it was titled "Bad Lee Brown. "Little Sadie" is part of the great American folk music canon, & the lyrics tell the story of a man who is caught by the authorities after shooting his wife/girlfriend. He is then sentenced by a judge. It's long been a favorite of mine.

I was thinking about this song.. you see it has a history. Rancid was kicking this particular one around; we had recorded it as a demo around the time of "Let's Go" and we played it live back then..I hope you're still with me..Fast forward ten years from the release of "Lets Go" up to Lars' Frederiksen And The Bastards 'Viking' album, where it officially appears on wax for the first time.. Add on to that another 10 years, which brings us to Feb 2013, for this version here-- a hyper take played by the Twins and I.
