Django

On those long overnight drives on the bus, Rancid watches horror movies and spaghetti westerns like Django. There's that great scene in the first film where Franco Nero pulls the machine gun out of the coffin. Jimmy Cliff's character watches that same scene while at the movies in Harder They Come. This is our take on Rancid's song, originally on the 'Indestructible' album.

Please Give Me Something

Bill Allen originally cut this track for Imperial Records back in the 50s, which was also home to Fats Domino and Ricky Nelson. Imperial mainly recorded R&B and country acts, and from time to time they put out a classic barn burner. Have ya ever noticed that for many situations there is a suitable line from a song..like "Please give me something.. so the love won't die..Just a little bit of something". Damn. Here's our rendition of a Bill Allen and The Backbeats rockabilly howler.

Husband and wife Boudleaux and Felice Bryant were among the first in Nashville to make a full-time career of songwriting. They wrote some of the most popular tunes of the 50s and 60s, and Many of the Everly Brothers' hits. The Bryant's had some 1500 songs recorded by over 400 artists. RESPECT! We peppered this rendition with a dangerous bunch of esteemed, down to earth country all star friends.

Honor Is All We Know
Written in the spirit of my work with Operation Ivy and the British Oi! band Cock Sparrer, I wrote this song during the financial bailout of Wall Street addressing the idea of hard times and importance of standing by your friends. I dug out my old Seville for this one and ran it through a Mesa Boogie amp, the same set-up I used in Op Ivy. The Bivona brothers from the Interrupters are my backing band, Jesse on drums and Kevin on guitar and bass. Originally released on the ‘Rock N Roll Theater’ album that accompanied ‘Dante’ in April 2012.
